Proof
of my ability to take on a big project and make sure it gets done right
is that I am the author of several books. I've
always been interested in visual stuff (art, design, architecture), coupled
with a fierce sense of the practical (I'm a Virgo, after all) which resulted
in several jobs at shelter magazines and a series of books on decorating
and design, as follows:

|
The
Home Answer Book
(HarperCollins, 1995)
A highly useful compendium of expert knowledge for homeowners and
renters. I wrote the chapters on home decorating and keeping house.
I also co-packaged and edited it.
|
|
The
Interior Design Handbook
(Henry Holt, 1995)
Everything I know about how to decorate your house. Very down-to-earth,
thorough and detailed.

Arts
& Crafts Metalwork & Silver
(Chronicle, 1994)
I worked with a terrific photographer and designer on this one and
went to all the shoots. Collectors opened up their homes to us,
allowing to include many unique pieces.

|
Arts
& Crafts Pottery & Ceramics
(Chronicle, 1994)
I love ceramics and the Arts & Crafts movement produced some
wonderful examples. This was fun to do and is a companion volume
to Metalwork & Silver.

Lost & Found
(Macmillan, 1991)
Still my favorite: decorating with collections, architectural salvage,
folk art. Nifty pictures. Got chosen by Publisher's Weekly
as one of the best books of the year.

Victorian
Details
(Dutton, 1990)
Tips on creating gracious nineteenth-century-style rooms (even if
you live in a ranch house).
